Recording can be a challenging experience that demands patience, vision and creative focus and this requires a relaxed and friendly recording environment.  It really helps to work 1 to 1 with someone who really knows about the recording process, wants to understand your unique needs and is able to guide you in a non-intrusive way toward producing your very best recording.

What can we offer?
121 Sound Studios are basic but comfortable, situated in a secure, private and soundproofed domestic cellar space.  We are equipped with excellent quality recording equipment built around the very latest Cubase and Wavelab recording software.

Facilities include high-quality Neumann microphones and a range of top of the range digital sounds including very high quality East West Symphonic Orchestras, Steinberg concert grand pianos, ultra-realistic BFD digital drum kits and percussion, as well as the latest digital keyboards and synthesisers.  You can add these tracks yourself or we can play them for you to produce very professional and realistic accompaniments for your tracks.

121 Sound Studios also offer inhouse Photoshop graphic design facilities to quickly produce your own CD labels and CD recordings.

Who does the recording?
The sessions are engineered and produced by Barry Lane who has written songs for most of his life and has been involved in many bands, including The Fridge Mechanics Union, his latest 8-piece folk rock band.  He is a member of the Musicians Union and the International Songwriters Association and has recorded and produced CDs for many years.

Who do we work with?
Over the years, our clients have included singer-songwriters, poets, actors, voice artists and many other musicians.who have enjoyed the informal and stimulating atmosphere of our studios.

We don't pretend to compete with the look and feel of the big commercial studios, but we do produce very listenable and professional recordings which you will be proud to use to advertise and promote your sounds.
